Frequently Asked Questions
Q: Do you take insurance?
At Taylored Spine Chiropractic, we’re a cash-based (self-pay) practice and do not bill insurance directly. This approach allows us to focus entirely on what’s best for you — not on the limitations, restrictions, or requirements of insurance companies.
We believe in keeping care simple, transparent, and personalized. Many of our patients find that our care is not only affordable but also provides greater freedom and flexibility.
If your insurance plan includes out-of-network chiropractic benefits, we’re happy to provide a detailed receipt (called a superbill) that you can submit for possible reimbursement.
Q: What forms of payment do you accept?
We accept cash, checks, credit/debit cards, and HSA/FSA cards. Payment is due at the time of service so we can keep care straightforward and stress-free.
Q: What can I expect during my first visit?
Your first visit includes a detailed conversation about your health history, lifestyle, and goals, followed by a thorough chiropractic evaluation to assess your spine and nervous system. If appropriate, you’ll receive your first adjustment the same day. Every visit is designed to help you feel comfortable and cared for while we learn how your body moves and functions.
Q: What is a chiropractic adjustment?
A chiropractic adjustment is a gentle, specific correction made to areas of the spine that aren’t moving properly. These areas, called subluxations, can interfere with how your nervous system communicates between your brain and body. By restoring motion and alignment, adjustments help your body function, move, and heal more effectively.
Q: What is a subluxation?
A subluxation is a misalignment or restriction in the spine that disrupts normal nervous system function. Over time, this can lead to pain, tightness, or decreased performance. Chiropractic adjustments help correct these areas so your body can work the way it’s designed to.
Q: How long are appointments?
Your first visit usually takes about 30 minutes to allow for a full assessment and discussion. Regular visits are shorter, around 15 minutes, focused on precise adjustments and supportive soft tissue work.
Q: How often will I need to come in?
Frequency depends on your unique spinal findings, lifestyle, and goals. Some patients benefit from more frequent visits in the beginning to create stability, while others maintain their progress with periodic wellness adjustments. Every care plan is “Taylored” to your individual needs.
Q: Do I need x-rays before getting adjusted?
In most cases, x-rays aren’t required before care begins. If your exam reveals something that needs a closer look, we’ll discuss options and refer you for imaging as needed.
Q: Can I come in if I’m not in pain?
Absolutely. Chiropractic care is about more than pain relief — it’s about keeping your spine and nervous system functioning at their best. Many people receive regular adjustments to support posture, movement, energy, and overall well-being.
Q: Do you see children and families?
Yes! Chiropractic care is safe and effective for all ages. Gentle, specific adjustments help children grow and develop properly, support active parents, and keep the whole family feeling their best.
Q: What techniques do you use?
We use a variety of techniques including Diversified, Thompson Drop, Activator Methods, Graston (Instrument Assisted Soft Tissue Mobilization), Cupping, and gentle stretching or active release methods. Each technique is chosen based on what best supports your body and your goals.
Q: Can chiropractic care help with stress or posture?
Yes! Spinal misalignments can create tension throughout the body, affecting posture and increasing physical stress. Chiropractic adjustments help release that tension, balance the nervous system, and support better posture and overall stress management.
Q: Do I need a referral from a medical doctor?
No referral is necessary. Chiropractors are primary contact providers, so you can schedule directly with us whenever you’re ready.
Q: What should I wear to my appointment?
Wear something comfortable that allows easy movement — like athletic or casual clothing. We want you to feel relaxed and at ease during your visit.
Q: Do you offer a military discount?
Yes. Taylored Spine Chiropractic proudly offers a 10% appreciation discount for active-duty military members, veterans, and first responders as a thank-you for your service. This discount applies to self-pay visits and services, including new patient and follow-up visits. Valid ID is required for verification at your first visit, and the discount does not apply to package pricing or other promotional offers.
